Tigerstar's sudden death by Scourge had me SPEECHLESS. Like no way is he going to actually lose all 9 lives at once...he's too important to die like that...and then he was dead. This ending is going to be CRAZY

The imagery of Firestar seeing himself as a lion is SO COOL. I've always admired the painting on the cover. Big things are happening.

Goodbye Darkstripe!!! I'm very curious what he (and Blackfoot and Tigerstar) is planning. I also think it's interesting how he got more evil while Longtail (who fought Firestar when he had just became Firepaw, resulting in his collar being ripped off) has become more honorable.

It's getting good! I was starting to wonder if the pace of this one was slower or if I was just tired, but since Darkstripe possibly fed Sorrelkit deathberries, things are happening! I like how Firestar handled his choice of a deputy and Thornclaw and Brightheart's naming ceremonies.

Lovely imagery during Firestar's visit to the Moonstone. His dream was so cool. I'm excited for that prophecy to build up even though it will probably involve a lot of death

Two weeks ago, I found a first edition paperback of this at an antique store for $2.50! I've never heard of this series before, but I bought it because the illustration on the cover inspired me and it seems cool.

- "said" is overused
- when a lot of characters are talking at once, it can get a little confusing
- dark forces & telepathy/possession (?!) are very compelling. I want to know about the greenwitch!!

It was already so obvious that the dog and the pack were the same thing - a pack of dogs. I was surprised to see that Tigerstar is feeding them, though. Also it's so sad that Lostface has to be reminded of her injuries every time she talks to anyone. Like it wasn't bad enough already.

My only issue with this book: at first I thought the dogs in the prologue were really different and cool (and I still think it's really interesting to have an unusual threat), but now I kind of wish we didn't know about it in advance. It's SO obvious that "I smell a dog" and "pack, pack! kill, kill!" means there is more than one dog! How do they not know what this looming darkness/creature is? It's more than one dog!

There's never a dull moment. I just want to keep reading! There's been so much suspense with Fireheart preventing the battle with WindClan, them trying to figure out what's going on with the dog, and Bluestar's downfall. More and more cats are finding out how bad she's gotten. It's written so well that, even though her personality has changed completely, it doesn't feel out of character. She has dementia.

It's really interesting so far! Snowkit's deafness is so different from what I've seen so far in the series. I miss Bluestar's old self. And what Tigerstar is up to is very mysterious and intriguing. The dogs silently lurking somewhere is really interesting and different too. I'm excited to see what they do next and how ThunderClan finds out about them. I already know that Tigerstar has them kill Bluestar later :(

Yellowfang ;__; also this section (and this book in general) was written really well. Them evacuating the fire reminds me of the fear of waiting out a hurricane in the dark when you have no idea what will happen to you or your house.

The fire is the only thing I remembered about this book so I've been kind of dreading it (said in a lighthearted way, but it's sad).

Aagaghgg I just want to keep reading because big things are happening but I have other responsibilities. Btw the metaphors/similes/imagery in this book are beautiful. I keep writing them down for inspiration.

Cloudpaw :( just yesterday I wanted to look up the painting of him on the cover to see if I could find the full thing, but I didn't because of spoilers, and I'm really glad I didn't! I wonder if he comes back?

Also it was funny that Fireheart was so oblivious to Sandstorm's interest in him. Everyone in the clan except him knew!

I'm still trying to get over the fact that Cinderpelt was renamed between books.

Lots of interesting things are happening and it's paced nicely. I wish I didn't already know that Cloudpaw had gone to eat kittypet food, but it was still surprising that he happily went into a house. Will he ever learn??? The way Sandstorm encourages him to let Cloudpaw decide for himself reminds me of myself watching my brother make poor decisions. Also there's a lot of great descriptions and metaphors. Summer<3

AHHH!!!! ITS GETTING CRAZY. Seeing Fireheart and Tigerclaw fight after building up their rivalry for 3 books was so satisfying. HE TOLD THEM EVERYTHING!!! And Tigerclaw WILL be back (said w fear). also the line "I'm going to kill you, and kill you again. As many times as it takes for you to join StarClan forever. It's time for *me* to lead this clan!" is SO METAL. Also he wanted to make thunderclan great again LOL

The pacing in this book is SO much better than Fire & Ice. The long travels to and from meeting Ravenpaw were just cut out! Wow! It's not like the journey to find WindClan that felt long and sometimes confusing and repetitive.

I wish I didn't already know the truth about Oakheart's kits because that would make the truth much more shocking when it's revealed later. The search to find the truth is really interesting!
