My dad bought me this book a couple of years ago and I don’t know why I haven’t read it. I thought it might have been centred around a child but it’s already different to how I expected in a good way! Hope Nora catches a break :(

It’s really hard to read the child abuse written into this book, imagining Ella’s house and the sights/smells.. but very powerful. As soon as she asked Casey about Lee’s “soulful” blue eyes, I thought that’s the dad she’s looking for? We’ll see! No clue what Casey has to do with it though/why she is hunting her down and wants to torture her!!

I’m enjoying the back and forth of the chapters so far - I think it’s too obvious if Lee or Rudy are baddies, Rudy is creepy but Lee seems fine - although we don’t know his backstory. Casey is obviously running from something in her past and I’m interested in how it relates to Ella, was she a kid that she taught? I think she’s silly for wanting to go and check out the light in the tool shed!!
