She is my favourite author. Dostoevsky / Camus #dislodged. WOW. Her writing is so rich - the elevator metaphor/ fish tank I cannot unsee. Also the way she creates tension and atmosphere … this won’t be the last Belli book I read hopefully!!

Quickly becoming my favourite author, so beautifully written and so dense in themes to unpick. “Ahora sé la diferencia entre raíces y pies, y es que las raíces dan una sensación muy distinta, son diminutas, piernas extendidas en la tierra. I caved and bought the book. So hard not to cry while reading this in public. What an incredible woman. Both the ordinary and the unimaginable are so well expressed. Want to finish this today.

Started reading this in the airport bookshop, couldn’t continue because I started crying. Want to read this (maybe in original french) because it deserves to be read.
