The family gets kicked out from their vacation resort after greg got in trouble again. They sneak back in for a photo to remember the vacation but for some reason a wall collapses near them and they escape. When they get home, the family found out that they are all banned from the resort for life.

Gregs report card arrives and and hes almost failing every class, he brings his grandma to dinner when his parents are over to soften their reaction on the report card. His parents are really mad at him now but try to make them feel better by going to bingo with his grandma. His dad is also frustrated because greg isnt doing anything outside and is always inside playing games to he makes him play soccer in a group.

The book starts to get into the 1990's of the NHL and the teams which started to come into the league and how they did. They were comparing it to todays league and how they played. They talked about the team relocations. After, they started to get into the very early NHL superstars.

This book talks mainly about the history of the nhl and how it started. It talks about a very famous goal in the early NHL years of the Stanley cup finals. It then goes into the beginning of the NHL and some of the teams and how they either don't exist or are renamed. He also talks about the growth of these teams

Greg Heffley gets off his plane from his home after his parents booked it for Christmas vacation as their honeymoon was here, Greg does not like planes and freaks out a lot during it, they finally get out after Greg had a horrible sleep and loves the summer air. They get to the hotel but realize they took the wrong bag at luggage check
