The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has significantly more local dialect, slang and incorrect spelling than the Adventures of Tom Sawyer, so I was not able to grasp much of it in the first go. I'll give it another try during this month.

Although I know Huck's story is deeper, I prefer the stories of Tom Sawyer to those of Huckleberry Finn, most likely because the former is based on real stories. We could often tell if a story is real because some of the details simply cannot be invented. The authenticity in Tom Sawyer is unique.

I’m afraid I’ll have to halt reading Crime and Punishment because I am low on emotional space right now. I really like the book though. I like books that discuss human nature and philosophy.

I feel pretty complicated about the serpent. Isn’t it telling the truth while the god is lying?

I’m so appalled with the shift in the mindset of American authors mirrored in their works. Mark Twain’s books are so uplifting and loving, while Hemingway’s and Fitzgerald’s are so sick. I’ve just asked AI for a time when the America became narcissistic, and it indeed gave me a time threshold that divided those literary works.
