Rereading E Lynn Harris's books continue to make me sad. Sad that he's no longer with us, sad for his main character Raymond, sad for how closed-minded and ignorant we all were (and many still are) at the time of these books' popularity. I hope Mr Harris was able to experience the love his characters sought and longed for before his passing.
