There’s a slow burn and enemies to lovers arc, then there’s this. I’m not sure what is happening with these characters. Still do not have a good connection with them. I’m trying hard to really understand dynamics and emotions, but it’s not happening.

Still not impressed.
Thinking of DNF’ing this book, but I hate to not finish something.
The writing is still mediocre at best. It feels like it’s on the right track but doesn’t quite make it to the finish line.
Still no true connection with the characters.

The writing is still annoying and I’m having a hard time getting to know these characters. There’s not enough depth and character building for me.

Positive note: almost 3/4 into this book and very little spice and smut. At least this didn’t take over the plot. There has been a lot of tension. That I can work with, but a smut take over can ruin a good plot.

The writing isn’t any better.
The story/plot is good. It keeps me interested and wanting to read more. I’m not bored.
The gay relationship with Patti and Achilles was a little surprising, but not really giving the trends in novels right now.

Like the plot
Do not like some of the writing. The parentheses comments are annoying and distract from the story. It’s an attempt at humor that doesn’t quite hit the mark.
The main character, Alexis, is awkward which is fine, but may be exaggerated a little too much.

Tension between Xul and Thais is intense.

Story of twins Thais and Thatcher. Both with blessed illegal powers.
