Not what I was expecting! Chapters are super short. It’s a very wide collection of short summaries of the lives of various women the author has stumbled upon while researching for her other publications.

Reading this one for another work project! Gotta finish it fast so I’m up to date on source material

I gotta stop reading AND thinking cause I can see the plot twists too far in advance & it’s making the series less fun. I’m hurting my own feelings with it

My current approach to this series: All gas, no breaks

I started it weeks ago, but have been slowly doing a chapter a day - until last night when I hit a major plot point & promptly read 150ish pages in one sitting

Sometimes I really do need books like these to remind me that reading can feel effortless & energizing. I love my non-fiction and convoluted philosophical topics, but this is actually a delightful change of pace

I hate to say it, I picked this up as a way to kill time and stay off my phone before bed, but suddenly I’ve been up for an extra half hour????? Maybe I really do like romance novels????

Hearing direct quotes from the KKK handbook and seeing how it aligns with several key points of Project 2025 is insane. Would never have known about those correlations without the history chunk of this book

Definitely leaning into my morbid research tendencies on this one. Because of today’s political climate and the way religion is getting closer and closer to center stage in the government, I really appreciate April’s honest breakdown of being an evangelical Christian vs being a Christian nationalist. I want to stay true to Jesus, not just the corporate American church and I think this will support that journey.
