Done the questionnaires, getting a good personal understanding.

The end of book 4 says to not fear death and to not worry about length of life. We all die, we all end up in the same place. Misfortune was not misfortune as enduring this was fortunate. I agree with this- in time. After reflection or enough time it is fortunate. Fresh trauma is not.

Book 3 seems to be written as notes to live a good life. To be thankful to the power of your own mind, and to use it well.

Book 2 speaks much on nature and the soul, and staying true to both. Nature is divine and cannot be evil, our souls can be corrupted out of anger and desire, but desire is worse. Actions out of anger are reactionary, whereas desire leads to an action

Book 1 is almost a dedication. He’s naming all those he’s grateful to, and what for. He begins with family and ends with the gods.

The introduction has been so long and mind numbing it’s made it a chore to finish. It’s been a week and I have been dreading pick up the book. Now I’ve finally finished the introduction and I want to take a break, knowing I will tear through the actual book. I’ve underlined some sections I want to revisit and highlight for future reference. Hell, the introduction doesn’t count towards page numbers.
