very interesting to read Tolkien's description of her depression and/ or Denethor's mental illness. The movies make no mention of that tbh

this is so good

everytime Aragorn opens his mouth i am reminded that Tolkien created the most perfect example of (nontoxic!!!) masculinity....he's courageous, compassionate and humble despite being a literal Dunédain AND King of Gondor.
honestly his character is probably the most fictional aspect of the whole triology bc no man would act like that irl :/

honestly i hate that the second half of the book only follows Frodo, Sam and Gollum. The first half of the book was so good compared to this constant talk of being lost, finding a way into Mordor and Gollum yapping his evil bs now....over it
