ughhh this is oddly beautiful. i wasn’t expecting to like it this much to be honest, and since it is a book for world history, it’s even more of a treat

worrying in its potency so far. it’s so vivid… it reminds me of a little life, but takes it a step further. i’m in the loch. i’m in the sweeps of Scotland and the pains of Mungo’s familial life. I feel it all so far, especially when the uncomfortable moments of vulgar language pierce me and i’m reminded of just how this boy has grown up. i’m anxious to see what becomes of him and James.
