I’m loving the parallels are writing style. The parallel from her drinking in college for the first time and drinking the homemade medicine is really fun (not for her tho lol)

Past this point in the first book I started bawling (only book to make me cry) let’s see if it happens again

This book is so cute and is the ultimate feel good

First story done! I see lots of reviews of this one being simply a girl upset she might have to break up with her bf. To me I found it to more be about learning to love and take care of yourself by taking care of pets. Something I’m passionate about as a multi-species pet keeper. We all know sequels can’t be as good as the OG BUT this one keeps the same heart❤️

So heartbreaking and incredible story telling. Tactfully pulls apart the fine sinew layers of the colonizers argument for what they did. The “plot twist” and climax of the book is gruesome and has layers thicker than 10ft of honey beating the reader and protagonist over the head with the point of the book. 10/10 so far.

New favourite book of all time?

Another story down! This second one was much better than the first. The first tried to cover too few topics in one short story but this one made its point CLEARLY. Very disturbing and I would absolutely read a whole book about Marissa’s life and her newfound fucked up family.

I am sadly underwhelmed by the introduction and first story. The introduction is just very all over the place and confusing and could have been worded and edited so much better. I also wish it highlighted the indigenous significance of all the stories to come. The first story was short and blah :(

So riveting and enthralling. I want MORE. Reminds me of the life of Pi. Who is really correct? Is reality just what we are told to believe so our brains perceive it as such? This book will def be 5 stars

Gosh I love historical horror. As always the scariest horrors are not imagined monsters but the real horrors of humans. I think this will be a great read!

Ok well at least it finally got good! I really like this book so far! Happy it’s living up to the hype (so far) and can’t wait to see how much more twisted it gets💕🐰

I love the parts about ocean exploration and facts. I remember reading similar books and stories as a kid and hearing them again is nostalgic and a cool way to understand Leah’s worldview

It’s easy to see why people don’t like this book. To me the writing is beautiful and I love how it explores the intricacies of love in everyday life. As someone with a progressive illness it’s been very interesting watching the dynamics of the main characters and their unwavering love.
