Now Vianne is trying to take care of Ari and Rachel is on her way to a concentration camp.

Holy shit. The French police are deporting foreign Jews to concentration camps…. Isabelle and her father are hiding a mother and two children in their apartment but another one of their neighbors was taken by the police.

Just Isabelle casually leading enemy pilots through the Pyrenees mountains into Spain…. I genuinely can’t believe how much of a badass this woman is. A hero.

A lot to unpack. Vianne lost her job because she defended a fellow colleague. She has no money. German is getting flirty with her. Isabelle took in a British airman and kept him in her closet. Then she disguised him and took him to Levy. (There’s a 10k reward for any info about people helping the airman) Gaeten was there and she still feels very heavily about him. Their dad is behind all of the forgery!

The nazis came and fired every jew that Vianne had listed from their jobs. The Germans are also taking all of the food and leaving the French with little to nothing. Rachel forgave Vianne way too easily for the shit she did. Damn. Isabelle stole a bicycle and brought it to the communist. He’s going to paint it for her in return of a kiss. She’s thinking of Gaeten the whole time.

Isabelle is sneaking out to retrieve printed letters from communists in the area. The letters say that the French are backing the president. Isabelle is distributing them around town… a crime punishable by death. Beck gave Vianne a list of prisoners of war (including her husband) to share with the wives in the town…In return, this bitch gave him a list of all the Jews and communists in the town. Including Rachel

Wow. A freaking German soldier is moving into their house. Isabelle is absolutely right to hide their valuables and Vianne needs to just accept that she’s doing her best to protect the family. This is wild. Isabelle could have died…

Wow. This is incredibly written so far. Vianne just said goodbye to her husband and he went off to war.

It really grosses me out how Austin calls Rowan “peanut” and “darling”. It’s so weird. Also. Why is it that Rowan starts dating someone, then Celia starts dating someone. Then Rowan gets proposed to, then Celia gets proposed to.

Honestly. Damn right. Celia isn’t wrong. I don’t think Rowan should’ve accepted the proposal just out of obligation but she is extremely incapable of raising two children on her own.

She’s pregnant? This story literally has zero sense of direction. Dell isn’t wrong in how he’s acting…. Rowan hasn’t told him shit! There’s like 10 things going on right now and none of them are connecting.

Yeah Rowan’s reason for wearing the engagement ring from her abusive ex… stupid. This is so stupid.

Celia has a love interest now too? Why are there 3 new love interests in the last 50 pages? Ugh!

Lee is not a realistic abuser. The author has clearly not experienced abuse.

The author did NOT develop this friendship between Charlie and Gabe. Like?? What is this….

Rowan is kind of silly. She’s contemplating kicking Dell out of her life because Gabe has an issue with him? Something that wasn’t his fault. Her and Gabe are like kind of too close. Like a real victim of abuse would have issues getting close to her. I just feel like this author can’t really describe how love comes to be. Even the affection between Rowan and Dell is like???

Rowan is being inappropriate with the firefighter who rescued her and Gabe. Gabe is getting jealous. Rowan is really acting in ways she shouldn’t. I was excited by the introduction of this character but I’m kind of annoyed now.

Yeah idk why Rowan didn’t just tell Laine what was going on. They’ve been friends forever….

What the fuck is Rowan doing? She can’t just decide that Gabe is inconvenient and hand him off to someone. And make him lie about who he is and what his story is. This is fucked? Are we supposed to be on her side?!?

Meh. Not too big a fan yet. I’m enjoying the idea, but I feel like it hasn’t been realistic enough. The idea of Gabriel accepting Rowan so easily… I don’t think so. We also didn’t get enough information about the father and why he is the way he is. There wasn’t enough progression.

Pretty good so far. The beast has come looking for Feyre and taken her back to like the forbidden lands.

Wow where did I leave off? Lenora had a baby, who was taken away from her and might? be Carter. Miss Baker was Mr Hope’s dirty mistress. Miss Hope knows about Lenora typing and threw the typewriter over the cliff so she can use it anymore.
