Someday I'll learn that I hate these seasonal romance books. Someday, the romance of autumn will stop punishing me with angsty teen drama.

Dad is a pushy businessman with zero parenting skills & views his daughter only as an accomplishment while Mom supports her passions and wants her to do things for herself, not her father.
I'm complaining, I should have expected these cliches and I'm going to finish the book. I'm not enjoying it though. There isn't enough autumn aesthetic to make up for the flat background.

There'd better be a good reason somewhere later as to why they ripped her out of all her commitments and life for a "temporary" separation. I mean a reason other than plot for the sake of set up. What a shitty parenting move.
