This book would be a lot more enjoyable if the author wasn't trying so hard to let us know that she's read Romeo and Juliet.

PORCUPINES DON'T SHOOT QUILLS

I haven't watched a ton of horror movies which I can already tell is going to hinder my appreciation of this book so I'm going through and watching the ones quoted at the start of each chapter before reading it.

I got this book from Penguin House through a GR giveaway. My goal with any of the books I win is to be more thorough with documenting my progress and thoughts.

I'm excited for a horror themed read for spooky season and the premise is interesting. However, I'm only four pages in and already noticing editing errors. Nothing major but obvious enough that I'm rereading sentences to see if I misread or if it was off.

Too historically inaccurate to really get into. I hope the story makes up for all the errors.

I had to stop here when he started going into outdated training practices. I hate that dominance theory has been so popularized. Even zoos are moving to positive reinforcement training. There is no excuse to terrorize an animal. You would think a devout Hindu vegetarian who says that all sentient life is sacred would understand that.
