I really hate some male authors writing female protagonist in thrillers. Why they have to obsess over female characters’ appearance and unending cat fights? Are these what they see that defines a woman? Not to mention the heroine is sooooooo weak

I don’t care less for MCs pining for each other in endless lengthy inner monologues. I just want to see some action. Doesn’t this suppose to be a treasure hunting story? Stop flirting, get working! You have boxes of lost gold on sea floor to find!!!!!

I didn’t understand the language in first 10-20 pages. I read words, but the meaning failed to form. By 14% I was completely bored out of my mind.

I like Stillhouse Lake better. The romance here feels forced. It could’ve been a straightforward thriller instead of a romantic suspense.
