DNF : I found the basing of the main character on Jack Vettriano off putting & couldn’t get past it.

Mandatory reading for the complete mess this country currently finds itself in.. I love these characters & the tenuous continuation of Rotters’ Club & Closed Circle. A new Jonathan Coe is always a reason to celebrate, but this book is exceptional

I've always wanted to read Linda Grant before & now will read more. She captures the Seventies very accurately & Adele is an interesting and complex central character
