well then…

i’m finally up to the part where rocky speaks and im smiling like a bloody cheshire cat
i LOVE this part of the book
i LOVE how CLEVER(!!!!) it is
i LOVE how sweet it is
& now the audio has truly brought it to life and made it even better than i had imagined while reading it the first time

okay NOW we’re finally getting into the thriller stage of the book as opposed to a terrible cheating trope that felt something like hallmark meets 50 shades
BUT the subliminal message of the twist is great imo (so far) but that was a long walk for a short drink of water bro (tbh its probably paced really well, i just despise cheating tropes)

the suspense aspect; great!
the plot; no comment.

had to pull out the calculator and re-traumatise myself with high school maths to figure out what percentage i’ve read (fix that shit audible) BUT OMFG I FORGOT HOW GOOD THIS BOOK IS AND HOW MUCH I LOVE IT !!!!! i was initially devo that i read the ebook rather than listen to the audio (2024) after all the hype… but now im so glad i didn’t bc it’s making the audio + re read experience 10000/10 rn

sooo… my brain is too all over the place to give this book the attention it deserves - so this bad boy is going on pause for now and im going to listen to a credit that’s been collecting digital dust on my audible shelf… we’re diving back into Project Hail Mary for a re-read (and first time listen!) before she pops up on the big screen in aus 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🤞🏼🤞🏼

okay the writing is starting to get toooooooo poetically descriptive???? but being a highly dramatic and emotional girly as of late, i’m highlighting passages like a greedy gremlin

hmmm interesting turn of events

so far i’m loathing the plot (was intrigued up until the man entered the chat and it turned into a hallmark version of the 50 shades of grey movie—not the sex, just the bad acting and how un-fucking-realistic it was)… but i will say this after reading chapter 9; ms hoover can write a good-ass suspense scene so snaps snaps all round to her for that

having obviously read to the authors note when beginning this book, then listening to the book in its entirety, and then revisiting the authors note at its completion… i’m fucking broken.

why are only some of my book updates sharing????? / i can only see a few of them??!!! i gave a sensational one-liner update on Woman Down yesterday and it’s no where to be seen?!!!?! rude.

but now i fear the storyline will be too cringe / won’t match that???? like it won’t be dark enough to be a lucinda berry type experience… and not quite quick witted and funny enough to be a freida mcfadden level read… i guess what anticipating is the same experience as a blake lively movie? funny that…

I PROMISE I HAVE NOT NEGLECTED THIS BOOK !!!!!!! i just really need to figure out the best way i can read it to its fullest potential bc i could only buy the digital version being in aus, and it has to be read on the kobo app (bc i had a kindle and apparently booktopia only does ebooks compatible with kobo devices LOL) - so i’m testing to see if i’ll be more inclined to read on my ipad or phone LOLSSSSSSSSS😭

being back at work has meant having a lil less time to sink my teeth into audiobooks like i usually do... but i don't think there'll ever be enough time in the world to truly digest virginias's words. i feel sick. i am angry. i am so many emotions right now. and coming to the end of this book-knowing the events that took place at its completion-creates an unfathomable level of despair.

maybe i’m just emotional or in a VERY particular phase of my life right now… but colleen ate and left no crumbs with some of these [intentional or unintentional idk] philosophical quotes bro
i fear i could potentially enjoy this ???
but i think the story line may give me the ick

i’ve been wanting to get my grubby lil hands on an agatha christie novel since reading a novella last year that was heavily inspired by her work!! since then—having now now been exposed to her name—i’ve been seeing references to her and her work everywhere?!!? definitely taking my brain some time to adjust to the writing style but as of rn i definitely get the hype

i haven’t had a book make me feel this way since reading The Girl in the Green Dress by by Jeni Haynes back in 2023… as fucking hard as it is to read/listen to, EVERYONE needs to exposed to these words. !!!!!!!!

ahhhh omg i really didn’t appreciate this book enough when i read it the first time last year !!!!!
