Learning that she won’t be allowed to participate in the rebel attack on the Capitol, Katniss storms into a war meeting in the command center and demands that she be allowed to participate in the attack. Coin tells her that she has three weeks to train, after which the decision of Katniss’ participation in the attack will be left to the Assignment Board. Johanna wants to train too.They train together with the beggin.

Haymitch tells Katniss that Peeta is improving and even seems like himself at times; he wants to see her.Peeta is in restraints during their meeting, his expression one of wariness and suspicion. He says some hurtful things n Katniss responds harshly. She finds herself strangely angry with Peeta and fights to control herself. It didnt end up well.

Plutarch talks with Katniss and tells her that Finnick and Annie are getting married n going to be televised or something like that.The wedding is a big thing in 13 since they don't do any holidays or anything fun/special so Plutarch and Coin combine coins ritual and Plutarch Capitol culture with D4 things to create a great wedding.(Katniss lets Annie borrow one of her dresses that Cinna designed for the press tour)

Katniss wakes up with her bruised ribs in 13, then Johana comes to take some of Katniss' morphine since they are cutting her supply short. Johana and Katniss talk, Johana basically tells Katniss why she hates her (jealousy and an act that wasn’t an act). Then Gale visits Katniss, they talk, and he tells her that the rebels now have D2. Katniss starts moving and rumors of her death go around (which is good).

Katniss confronts everyone and ask for the rebels to stop the fire, that’s when one of the guys from the nut holds a gun to Katniss asking her to give him one reason not to shot her, and she can’t come up with one reason, instead she flips it to reminding everyone who the real enemy is, that all of this is part of the capitol games. Then Katniss gets shot. they take her to back to 13

While they were waiting for anybody to come out of the nut, Haymitch tells Katniss that Peeta saw the propo of Katniss signing the hanging tree (that propo never come out) and he had a good reaction, he remembered Katniss dad singing the same song and Its the first memory linked to her that doesn’t make Peeta react badly.the people inside the nut starting to come out in the middle of Katniss speech,

Rebels will station themselves in the square to take any survivors captive. So I understand gale for wanting to do tit for tat. But these are life of people, some innocent and others not so much, but either way his plan worked and even tho the avalanche brought memories of Katniss dad dead’s to her, the plan actually worked.

Gale suggests they trap the enemy inside,leaving them w/o supplies, as a means to gaining control of it. Katniss realizes what Gale’s true intention is:He wants to build a death trap. After a heated debate, the decision is made to bomb the Nut and trigger an avalanche, thereby blocking all the exits. However, the train tunnel from the mountain to the district’s city square will be left open, allowing people to escape

Gale and Katniss talk while they pluck some goose and while they talk gale confess that if peeta keeps going the way its going he would never get a chance to be with katniss. When they go back to get more game, gale kisses Katniss. He’s always judging katniss ugh. Lyme, a commander in District 2, gives the brains and Katniss a virtual tour of the Nut; they discuss various strategies for taking the Nut.

Katniss is in D2 (two weeks has passed), where she feels better and with a little more freedom. No schedule, she’s allowed to hunt as long as its close by and with a a guard, she also has to move often for safety reasons as the “mockingjay”. There’s an impenetrable mountain — formerly used as a mine and nicknamed the Nut — serves as the main hub of the Capitol’s military. The "brains" arrived and with them Gale came.

While she comforts Peeta gently, he suddenly turns violent again, screaming that Katniss is a Capitol-made mutt. Devastated and hopeless, Katniss asks to leave and demands to be sent to District 2, the next step in taking down the Capitol. When she gets to D2 she's feeling okay with all the hunting and trying to not to think of Peeta or gale.

Prim stays to support Katniss, even as Plutarch,Beetee,and Haymitch discuss strategies to reverse the effects. Meanwhile, Gale and Beetee develop deadly traps for use against humanssomething Katniss finds morally disturbing. They try to jog Peeta’s real memories by sending Delly Cartwright, a kind girl from District 12.

Haymitch family+gf was killed two weeks after he was crowed victor for the little joke he played on the games. the team returns, Katniss rushes to see Peeta-but he tries to strangle her, and Boggs knocks him out just in time.Katniss is heartbroken. Doctors explain that Peeta has been hijacked with venom that warps his memories and makes him fear Katniss.

Haymitch later tells her that a rescue mission has been launched to save Peeta and the others—Gale volunteers first. While the mission unfolds, Katniss and Finnick film more propos to distract the Capitol. During his segment, Finnick reveals dark secrets about people from the capitol and snow. including how he sold Finnick’s body and poisoned his rivals(and snow drinking the poison too and getting the antidote)

Finnick, who relates by sharing how the Capitol uses Annie against him. Finnick gives Katniss a rope to help her cope. He also tells her what she has been knowing for a minute now.She loves Peeta. After the attack ends, Coin lets people leave the bunker, and Katniss is asked to film footage in the destruction. Overwhelmed and anxious, she breaks down and is sedated.

Peeta risks everything to warn Katniss that District 13 is about to be attacked. After the warning, he’s visibly beaten and tortured. District 13 goes into lockdown underground. Katniss, stuck in the bunker, reflects on Peeta’s inner struggle and fears for his life. Prim comforts her, reminding her that Snow needs Peeta alive to control Katniss.During those days Katniss distracts herself by playing with Buttercup.

Gale remembers the kiss, even all the morphling he still remember. She kisses him and even tho she didnt know why she did that gales says “Because I’m in pain, thats the only way i get your attention”IKNOWTHAT’SRIGHT. When she gets back to D13 she's so mentally disoriented she doesnt eat or follow her schedule. She gets called to see the D12 propo when she sees president snow talking with peeta on his side he's worse

katniss feels bad that her relationship with gale its banishing, but well his actions and a little of her actions too made that happen. When they are back in town Katniss shows the bakery that used to belong to Peetas family, they get asked a lot of questions and katniss gets overwhelm and leaves to her house in the victors village. When she is done getting things for her mom Gale appears.

Katniss starts singing the “the hanging tree” where is about a man who has been hanged. In the song he calls out for his lover, still alive, to “flee,” but in the end, it becomes clear that he's asking her to die along with him, hanging from a tree. Or its maybe just as katniss wanted to kill peeta rather to leave him with the capitol. they go back into town to keep filming (everything its being taped)

Nobody has said anything to Finnick or Katniss about Peeta propo, not even gale. Very strange. They go back to visit D12 to film another propo, very intense and sad. They start to remember things from the district and start walking around the woods when they then take a break at the lake, Pollux and Katniss stablish a convo.

Finnick and Katniss are watching the propo in D8 when a message from the capitol comes out. It’s Caesar and peeta again,just that this time Peeta looks bad,lost a lot of weight and she can tell he’s being tortured. Peeta ask Katniss through the screen to question herself who is she working with and if she can trust them.When that done Finnick and Katniss promised to act as if they didn’t watch Peetas interview

Unfortunately,the bombs got the hospital and everyone inside died. The emotions Katniss felt came out as incredible and goosebumps speech…Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!. the Propo was great, they are planning on doing more. Katniss and haymitch have a little encounter where he’s mad at her and told her to never remove her earpiece or he would surgically pull one inside her head.

They get to D8, which was bombed, they get to the hospital where the injured and dead are. Even tho they are in horrible conditions seeing Katniss alive gives them hope and a bit of joy. (she had a “miscarriage” that’s the reason she just now appeared)Just when they were leaving Capitol bombers attack.Katniss takes part in the defense, shooting down planes with Gale and the rebels(everything is being recorded)

Haymitch points out: Katniss only shines when she’s real,emotional,unrehearsed. Katniss and Haymitch share a chat where they say to each other everything they were holding inside, Then the team decides to send her into the field to film real footage, not staged stuff. Before they leave, Katniss and Boggs have a funny interaction with Finnick in his underwear and very excited about the trident Beetee is making for him

They take the team out of that prison. Gale and katniss go hunting like the old days, they fight about why katniss care so much about her old team. Then they go to listen to President Coin speech where she is going to announce the immunity for the peeta and the other tributes when she then says, in other words, If katniss step out of line they are all dead.

Fulvia and plutarch take katniss and gale to a place where katniss can get her uniform and get pretty. When they find the door they were looking for a guard forbid them to go in. Inside is Katniss old team Venia,Octavia,Flavius) chained to the ground and in horrible conditions.They were there cuz they were kidnaped from the Capitol to D13 and Octavia stole some bread in D13(not a big crime to be treated like this)

Katniss agrees to bethe Mockingjay only if Coin agrees to a list of demands, including immunity for Peeta and othertributes+Annie, announced to the public, hunting w/gale,prim keeps buttercup,and to personally kill Snow. They agree, plutarch shows her a sketchbook that containts a uniform that cinna designed. Cinna made plutarch promise that he would give it to katniss when she decided on her on to be the mockingjay.

When they are having a meeting w/ Plutarch and others an interview with Caesar Flickerman appears in the TV and the guest is PEETA!HES ALIVE People are calling Peeta a traitor for asking for cease-fire. Katniss’s furious that Peeta is in the Capitol, likely being tortured, while Coin 13 presid want to use her as propaganda. Katniss know there can not be a cease-fire, so she decides she is going to be the Mockingjay.
