So far I like it; I like the characters, and the mm romance is sweet. The world is interesting, if a little heart breaking.
But I have to take it in stages... there's a lot of tension, so its not a "soft" read.

While I thought the writing was good and I found the world and various cultures fascinating (well done!), I will not finish the book.
1) The cover presents as a light, possibly humorous mood; the story was not.
2) I could not get past the chapter where force feeding was the topic - and a metaphor for forced sex for those who fed off of sexual energy.

Lila is starting Into the West (The Founding of Valdemar #2)
I sent it back to the Library. It started off with someone hitting someone else. Not what I'm in the mood to read. Sigh.

Happines is...
...enjoying a new author! Opening the book led to "just one more chapter" syndrome.

Another deliciously beautiful book. it feels like a fairy tale; reminiscent of Brandon Sanderson; and I have NO idea what is going to happen next.

there need to be more hours in the night!

oh my goodness, oh my goodness.
loving the writing, the story, the historical feel - I actually wish I had this in physical form, cuz it seems like I'm missing something by reading it on my phone.

beautiful, old fashioned storytelling; similar to Charles deLint; allows story and culture to unfold at an easy pace.
