Das Buch wurde mir als Puls Size-Repräsentation in einem Fantasy-Setting empfohlen wurde. Aber diese Repräsentation geht mit so viel Fatphobia einher, was in einer ausgedachten Welt wirklich nicht nötig wäre. Ich hatte gehofft, dass es zumindest eine Verzerrung der Ich-Perspektive ist, die sich später weiterentwickelt. Nun gab es einen Perspektivwechsel zum sehr wahrscheinlichen Love Interest und... mehr Fatshaming.

Doing research on protest right now and I was curious how Alinsky would define "radicals". So far, radicals seem to be those people who seek to revolutionize our system. However, nobody is seen as apolitical: To be a democratic citizen comes with responsibilities of citizenship. Democracy only works if everybody participates in societal decision making.

So far really enjoying the idea and the writing style! 😊

Reading this is an unusual thought experiment, especially keeping in mind that Foster actually conducted in. In the beginning, Foster addresses some philosophical concerns, yet, he learns more about himself than about what it is like to be the animal he copies. I'm left with the question: Does this really bring him closer to "the natural world" or does it rather underline differences and estrange him?
