I FINALLY FINISHED THIS BOOK OH MY DAYS.
I like the nuggets of poetic wisdom in this book, but with that said, it’s really freaking hard to read. It wasn’t easy, and I’ll probably make more sense of it when I’m older, but a solid 3.5 for now.

Love a good mother daughter breakdown in a book. Anyways I am enjoying this book I think. I swear it’s always the short ones that are so difficult to get through and just sit with lowkey.

Ngl it’s difficult to get my head around this book sometimes, but I like a challenge. I find the commentary interesting, but I’ll probably have to reread it in 10-15 years.

Ughhh I’m going at a snails pace, I hope I give this book a proper chance and finish it over the weekend bc I do like it, it’s just a big genre pivot so i gotta kinda lock in.

best way to summarise this book: would’ve given it 5 stars if I read it when I was 12 and before thg and divergent. The core themes are very similar to thg but fall short in every single category. I think I’ll leave this trilogy as DNF rip, but at least I gave the first book a chance. Kinda pissed bc reading this was a cold reminder that i’m basically 23 and not 12 sitting in my school library, 3 stars.

THIS BOOK. oh my days. i felt like a child again when i read this book, and cried like one too. This book is brimming with an innocent and hopeless kind of love that tore my heart open. They are not innocent people, but they share an innocent love. And I think that’s my favourite thing about this book.

I need y’all to read this im deadass, the writing is spectacular.

I feel like I need to gently make my way back to general fiction from fantasy/tales/lores
