My kids LOVE this book, they laughed hysterically almost the whole time I’ve reading it the last few nights.

Emily is on page 80 of 272 of Carthage Conspiracy: The Trial of the Accused Assassins of Joseph Smith
It’s good, I keep wanting to pick it up and read more. It’s interesting, there’s a lot I didn’t know, but it also makes me mad.

Emily is on page 200 of 527 of Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties
It’s totally holding my interest, I can’t put onto down. It’s interesting that we follow along on his investigation and know all his thoughts on people and situations.

Emily is starting Little Red Riding Hood (Keepsake Stories)
Got it for my daughter on Kindle and that automatically added it here. It was cute and the illustrations were good.

Emily is 50% done with Next Year in Havana (The Perez Family, #1)
I’m surprised that I have stuck it out this long considering how much I dislike this format of writing in the first person and as though it’s all happening right now. Also the writing is a little forced, cheesy, and not particularly excellent. The fact that I’m still reading it and plan to finish attest to how interesting the story is and how interesting a story set in Cuna is….

Emily is on page 291 of 416 of Forty Autumns: A Family's Story of Courage and Survival on Both Sides of the Berlin Wall
I’m loving this book so far. I love the family that is portrayed in this book. It’s sad to read about all they endured. Opa specifically was a soldier in in WWI and WWII and then was stuck in the East side of the Berlin Wall the rest of his life, eventually punished for having disagreements with the communist leadership. It’s strong and interesting to see what they went through.

Emily is 51% done with D-Day: The Battle for Normandy
I’m loving this so far. I realized that the author is English and I actually think that he takes a pretty even view of all sides and leaders and their abilities. There is so much detail I might need to reread it eventually.

I’ve started several books on D-Day but had a hard time maintaining interest. It’s hard to do just to a military campaign like this and keep it interesting, this book has succeeded at both. The narrator for the audio book is excellent.

Emily is starting Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress : A Novel
I’m finding it hard to finish this book. The writing is good and the story is interesting but so far none of the characters feel that deep, relatable or endearing to me so I’m less drawn to it. The interesting part is how Mao deprived his people of books and how they didn’t even know what they were missing.
