I don’t even really know where to begin. This book is so profound and it’s told from the perspective of a five-year-old named Jack and it will forever change the way I approach my daughter. There are things that he says & things that I’ve never thought about before as an adult and it just this book has made me really truly take a step back and just be like wow.

Written in the perspective of a 5 year old boy named
Jack. I have been really excited to read this book for a while.

It follows a VERY similar pattern and plot as the first one but on a boat. I like it tho. The author is consistent. I love Elio and Zahra’s dynamic.

I’ve already cried twice

This was given to me for my birthday, and I am already obsessed.

Gotta put this on hold for a little bit. This is the third book in this series and it will likely be my last Tana French book. I genuinely find her books excruciatingly slow and boring. Overall, I enjoy the characters, which is what keeps me coming back and I really like the character development of Trey. But she needs to pick up the pace a little bit.

Police procedural / detective novels will ALWAYS be my favorite genre

I don’t know. But sometimes I like this book sometimes I don’t like this book. Poe is driving me crazy. I don’t like it when an author has to constantly write about the main character drinking or having a drinking problem or needing to quit drinking or using alcohol to numb her problems like OK I get it lol

Repetitive and Poe drives me insane

Oddly enough, my favorite character is Ian Hindley
The author is doing a good job with his character
