Problematic. From start to finish. The way the female lead pandered to the patriarchal norms and despite her being a well educated, beautiful woman - felt inclined to throw away her life for a man was beyond me. Never mind the narration of said character left so much to be desired… then when you consider the man was a client suffering with extreme personality disorder makes it even worse… 3 stars. That’s it.

Chapter 13…the extent of outlandish, cheesy, unhealthy, emotionally unstable and all around toxicity of this book is throwing me for a loop. With the female protagonist being a therapist no-less…. Hoping it gets better but I doubt it 😫

This book…is so ridiculous. So many facets of the character composition are driving me crazy and it’s taking everything in me to not roll my eyes into my skull while listening….

Another audiobook 😅
Chapter 8

I’m always on the fence with the Shavonne Latrice books. The stories in them feel as if they should serve as cautionary tales rather than a romantasy genre to aspire to. However, the sheer amount of jaw dropping antics and chaotic cast of characters definitely keep me entertained through my walks , house work and workouts. 3.8 stars.

I did expect this book to wreck me in the ways that it did so many before me. And it could have come down to a myriad of reasons why it did not, but even when I move through those- I still believe I would remain where I am right now. Moved, enlightened and solemn surrounding the events of life, the purity of heart when chosen and the appearance of beauty by virtue of the ugliest parts of humanity.

Chapter 37… Not enjoying Tasha or her husband at ALL. This thriller is heavily layered.

Just started chapter 22 and this book seems to have padded the pages with a cast
Of possible whodunnits. The secrets are flowing, some annoyingly base - but I can’t help but think theres an inside element to Kyle’s murder… and that long lost sister hasn’t been so lost after all..

I’m on chapter 9 and I’m closing on a conclusion that…seems extremely obvious to me… with the attacks, the sister “similarities,” the successful vs “failed” sister, previous family heartbreak with the younger sister…the call may be coming from within the house…

Literally swiping small stories left and right. My appetite for stories knows no bounds these days. Doing a quick dip into this one before returning to Piranesi and my current thriller read.

Can’t do it.

I’m having such a strong reaction to this book. And not in a good way. Extremely close to DNFing this one. Trying to see if I could stomach it in the name of literature

I have no business reading this. But I must admit…I’m so intrigued.

Clever, raw, emotional, gripping…yeah…I’m invested ☺️

Let’s see how this goes. So far the writing is pulling me in…
