Huxley couldn’t have predicted the world into which his book would age and yet has stood the test of time and an ever changing cultural background. The word incel didn’t exist back then, but this book feels at times a modern parody and critique of incel and “bro” culture. Fantastic so far.

Borrowed time and borrowed world and borrowed eyes with which to sorrow it. Heartbreaking!!!

Incredibly compelling and visceral. The longer chapters, where violence and boredom intermingle, help to show the mundane and normalized horror of war. The sudden switch to shorter chapters personalizes the death and destruction through deeply descriptive and personal scenes of horrible human suffering.
