A dry topic presented in part via a fictional development scenario - an app to translate dog barks into speech! Lots of good process pointers and emphasis on integrating with the product development pipeline. Enjoying it so far.

Still trundling along nicely. I know the text is no Frank Herbert but these novels do paint a picture of the back story for all the key components in Dune and thereafter

Already warming up for a battle between Cymeks and Butlerians

Just started this today. Book was quite difficult to get hold of - had t9 wait several weeks for it to come through

The last of the Zoe Boehm novels and Sarah Tucker takes a prominent role. Seems as if Mick Herron was practising his one-liners that he would sprinkle into the Slow Horses novels.
Interesting premise - looking forward to seeing how this develops

Some of the same Brummie characters as her first novel but this one starts off weirder. I am enjoying it so far.

Just started and it seems good but same old problem with loads of Japanese names! Understated writing.

Some battles, deceptions and voluntary decisions to improve physical capabilities

As in Brian Herbert’s first Schools of Dune book, we jump around between stories for different characters - Manford Torondo, Valya Harkonnen and Vorian Atreides - so it’s sometimes confusing if these all occurred at the same time or not.

Didn’t realise when I bought it but very American/Canadian in its outlook and process guidance.
Will keep on with it and try and salvage some useful nuggets of information

Slow burner this - keep coming back to it between other reads

The whole concept of the book is quite ludicrous - a bit Everything Everywhere All At Once style - but it is very engaging.

Based on 4 stories occurring around the same Tokyo cafe, we get some insight into questions we might have about time travel and what is and what isn’t permissible.

Shaping up quite nicely but it does lurch about a bit. Crossbow - novel weapon in this day and age! Also interesting as its not set in London

Just started this yesterday evening

Positioned, I suppose, post-Agile and DevOps CI/CD as well as Disciplined Agile Delivery sets out how to deliver the right product, to the right user at the right moment by avoiding the “technological jerk”. Quite interesting at the moment, let’s see how it goes .

These first few chapters see Zoe Boehm in reflective mood, and very little action so far. Micky Herron’s observational style that he later used on the Slough House books can be seen to be developing and its very easy to read

Very turgid to get through. I may give up on it.

Racing through this one with thankfully less Roddy Ho than London Rules which was just on TV (Slow Horses season 5)
Can’t say too much about the story - spoiler alerts! - but enjoying it.
