Wishing it just had short stories and essays but the poems are beautiful

This book is so wonderful and full of love. I didn’t know it was going to be an ode to love and to the women she has loved for some reason I thought it would be about African goddessss and why she changed her name. Her & Ginger make me miss the touch of women and the pretending that you don’t care about what you’re doing

I almost didn’t want to start this because I thought it might be a bit too serious, but I forgot how intimate and personal and funny auto biographies are. Esp with Audre Lorde. RIP Gennie
