I'm really enjoying the characterization and dialogue that this story offers. I love the differences between Sandy and Mei and the way their relationship is explored. He feels so real right now and I don't want to believe he's dead.

i just feel so terrible for radclyffe hall. stephen is t allowed to be happy for more than a few pages. i just know it’s going to end in such a sad way. old queer lit makes me so sad.

i really love how hall describes stephen falling in love it very romantic and fulfilling. it makes me yearn with stephen. i was then shocked out of that haze but the first overt mention of black people in the book being with the n-slur.

ugh i missed reading this it’s been awhile. also shocking to go from the small font and cramped pages of the well of loneliness to this.

stephen is surrounded by some true VILLAINS.

wanted to read this one again since i love the movie so deeply and i rushed reading the book in 2022.
