Another unfortunate evidence he cites is the Anthony Lawrence's death and Elephant mourning story. It is just, well, anecdotal. I'm definitely going to read 'the inner lives of animals' I found in the bibliography .

Really very gripping. You have to know the other philosophers he talks about before reading this book. Loopholes in every materialist paradigm are pointed out very compellingly.

Amazing book. It's a bit unfortunate that he cites the reflex action of removing the hand from a hot stove as an act of conscious awareness. But it's not really. It's a reflex arc....

Cool, I have read GEB and 'I am a strange loop', so I'm familiar with some of his references. Book is very good. However, I feel the main characters don't really have unique personalities. It's a bit forced.

Talks of interiors and exteriors as being essential components of reality (Wilber), and I can see that he has definitely read Donald Hoffman (Interface theory of perception).

Hmm, I feel the author has read "The Matter with things" by Iain McGilchrist. Interest level keeps increasing as I read on.

I'm very much liking it. He is thoroughly employing Wilber's integral framework, and absolutely everything he has said until now is exactly Sri Aurobindo's metaphysics. He hasn't aknowledged him though...
