giving myself a gothic lit education just for fun. the revelations i am having about literature and the occult and the human condition while reading this is making me feel like i have to reread everything i’ve ever read.

holy effing hell

this is like driving by a car crash and wanting to look at the carnage but knowing you actually don’t want to because you might see something really horrible but then you look anyways. very dark (but good horror?) pick, my apologies to the club ☠️

I was really enjoying how atmospheric this book is, set in a castle, lots of nostalgia, all that jazz but then came across the line, “A feeling known only to men. A feeling called friendship.” ????????????? Offended.
