The pace starts to pick up, and there is definitely a pleasurable feeling of insight into Ariane's and Solal's minds. Surely these last few pages resonate with everyone who has experienced some sort of toxic relationship to love and seduction, and the keeping up with those initial masks one puts up to impress. A strong feeling of it all about to crumble looms in these pages, so I am keen to see it all unfold.

I had to skim through the rant-monologue Solal gives Ariane in their 'first' official encounter. I am liking the book a lot so far, but some of the internal monologues are extremely hefty and hard to enjoy. They obviously give insight into the characters' souls, but what could be said in just a few pages seems to be dragged out for entire chapters. I find myself longing for the pages on which there is dialogue.
