While I am very much enjoying this book, if you have seen the show Prison Break, then this book is basically that show… just with fae, women mixed with men in a prison, and instead of Michael trying to get his brother out it’s Rosalie trying to get Roary out.

Why is nothing pulling me in lately?! Ugh! I want to sink my teeth into something haha

I want to love these books but there are SO MANY ERRORS! They are glaring and completely takeaway from the books.
The author herself even gets her storyline confused… initially it was Easton’s mom having an affair with Ali’s dad then halfway through this book it’s suddenly changed to be Stephen (Easton’s father) and Ali’s mother that had the affair? Seriously?! It’s so frustrating

It is so frustrating to read these books with all the errors. I enjoy the stories. They’re both fun and funny, but when nearly every paragraph something is wrong it detracts from the story “wraith” instead of “wrath”, “accept” instead of “except”, sentence fragments, an entire missing word. I can overlook an error here or there but this is ridiculous, to the point that I get pulled OUT of the story.

If anything happens to May, I’m going to riot.
Apart from the much needed editing, I am very much enjoying these stories. So far, I think these 2, Lyra and Thatcher, are my favorite ❤️

It’s frustrating the author doesn’t know the difference between ‘former’ and ‘latter’, there are so many errors where an entire word is missing, it’s the wrong word, or a similar sounding word that gets confused for the correct word within a saying. I could enjoy the book more if it had been properly edited or if even an attempt to edit had been made.

Based on the little bit I have actually gleaned from the text my bets are either on the mayor himself or Easton Sinclair. Dun dun dunnnnn

It seems pretty slow so far pacing wise but I can tell the pieces are going to come together. A few small surprises have happened and some predictable “turn of events” have also happened. I didn’t look to see if this was trad or indie but I’m assuming indie because it could have benefited from editing. That said, it’s better than several trad books I’ve read lately 👀 Glad I picked it up!

The writing is a bit of a put off
“…grabs the circular stool near the morgue table, sitting on top of it and rolling his way in front of the tied man. Similar to how a doctor would do examining a patient.”
It doesn’t put me in the scene as much as “…sits on the circular stool and rolls his way in front of the tied man, like a doctor with his patient.” It’s just cleaner, IMO.

I have been waiting for the Cassian Nesta story since their first meeting! I am loving Nesta’s growth and I hope she really overcomes herself in this book and becomes… it seems like she does🥹🧡

Please let Lucien have redemption. I loved him and then felt so betrayed by him, but also somewhat saw it coming, but now I want him to have redemption and have some kind of happy in his life… but he needs to get away from the sleezeball Tamlin

That was me screaming at my book for them to STOP when they wanted to reveal Velaris

And then x10 more when my fav Dream Team was like “oh hey, let’s take a bad decision and make it worse” and decides, even after Hybern tried to ransack Velaris, “hey let’s go right to his doorstep, go INside, and hand deliver ourselves to him”.

🚨THIS IS A BAD PLAN!!!! PLEASE STOP!! ⛔️

And yet…

OMG thank you. I wanted to rip TamTam’s hair out and shake Feyre to wake her up.
It’s betting better now, finally. The banter with this crew is a massive improvement to the whole book’s mood. Loving the slow-ish burn.
