Why does being employed at a utility company catching strays in this book 😭 the main character hates her utility job before moving on to a glamorous tech company—and I’m like “why is that so bad? I like my utility job!”

Thanks Claire for letting me borrow your copy! Really enjoyed it so far, but now I have to wait till the book comes out in August to finish it 😭 and I left off on a cliffhanger

Bought this book while I was at the New York public library. I’m not that far in, but the first chapter has interesting history about the politics of how the subway originated, especially surrounding Boss Tweed (throwback to American history class). Anyways, now that’s got me thinking about the political cartoons of the 1850s and I think we should bring them back since there are many billionaires to make fun of

This book has a really fascinating magic system and it's refreshing to see a main female character in her late 20's feeling the same way I do at my job

This book is doing me in. Definitely understanding it more this read, it just is a very hard read and sometimes I just want to read something more fun. Also, in some parts it's painfully obvious that this book is written by a man because all the female characters fall into two archetypes: The Sexiest Sex Goddess™ or The Old Ball and Chain™

Will probably come back to this later, because it is a fascinating book
