short and sweet

Really interesting. I was warned of a cliff hanger. Puzzle mystery with an element of adventure and a question of paranormal interaction. I enjoy a book that takes place in 2 time frames that come together in the end. I like the main character's development of friendships and learning to trust others with the whole story. Puzzles are cool and in riddles. And the stakes are high!

Listened to specifically because it was short. Works for a kid who wants something a little more meaningful/ older content. But isn't a great reader. Or a younger boy but more advance reading.

I enjoyed this. I was listening to it while doing other things so I didn't process most of the questions and how the answers specifically tied back. But going through the hypothetical science was always interesting. Also Will Wheaten narrated it so well! The weird and worrying questions sections were so fun

I love how confident Juniper is even though she knows nothing about the city. She keeps comparing herself and others in terms of animals for behavioral/hierarchy purposes.

Chose not to finish. recording and story atmosphere was not intriguing or enticing. Plot moved slowly and it just wasn't for me.

Okay so I listened to this while stocking at walmart. It is HEAVY but I expected to sob and didn't. I was questioning my sanity until I was thinking about it later and cried. My thought to myself was, "okay good I'm still human.

This book has soo much substance. It's heavy and heartfelt. POV structure is a little hard to follow and it took some good time to figure out who was talking before I really understood the characters.

I got like 20 minutes in and wanted help remembering who is who. The character list I found gave a gigantic spoiler and there was no warning. I am upset and not sure what I'll do about it.

cute, irking, unfortunate, mildly disappointing, but good

I had to speed up the audiobook a lot. I kept getting distracted and confused when I missed stuff. I relistened to multiple long sections of the book. Did not follow well at first and actually put it down for a week till the borrow was practically due.

Unfortunately ditching this book. I will not be finishing the audiobook. It is the first in the series. It is an interesting concept and in theory it'll probably get more action packed towards the end. I just feel like up to this point there is no tension or inflection that the writer or narrator is doing to get or keep my interest.

This isn't typically the kind of book I gravitate to but it was recommended to me. And liked it.

This book is a little strange with the sentient building. I think I might have enjoyed it more had people not tried to talk to me while I listened.

Good middle grade romance

Book 2 has a different narrator than book one. :/ I'm going to wait a bit before listening in hopes that the first narrator voice isn't strongly in my head.

I enjoyed this book. It has monsters and inter/intra personal conflict/growth. there were parts that were unsettling as the monsters were noticed but not understood yet. It wasn't scary all the way through but there were some good tension points.

was an okay book. Good story with plot progression. I liked how it it told chapters from each of the kids perspectives throughout.
