Odd no one caught this but when Kate describes her housekeeper as someone who devours paperbacks it is jolting --- the book is set in 1920 and the first paperback was in 1935

The first essay is an unemotional story by a teen who wants to convince her mama she really is ok with having a relationship with her dad. At 13 she simply states - I deserve better. May no one EVER convince her to not stand up and for herself or make her feel she needs to give someone another chance....

There are some books you should not read on your phone in public ---- this is one of them. I haven't read 20 pages yet but I have laughed out loud so many times folks are giving me strange looks lol
