im reading this in portuguese to better my grammar/vocabulary and so far i’ve gotten a pretty good grasp on writing patterns and grammar. as for the story itself, im a bit lost??? i’ve been rereading the pages whenever i get confused and a little of the quotes stand out to me but it’s kind of hard to follow cuz he’s just saying bullshit.

I think Mollie’s character is extremely interesting. To me, she seems like an allegory for women who are comfortable living within the patriarchy. She is so obsessed with herself and her beauty it affects her relationships with the other animals. She does not work and she does not want to work. If there is no one taking care of her and calling her pretty then what’s the point? She wants her nose stroked by a man.
