Another book club job - interesting concept poorly executed.

My update is that I left my copy on the fucking train

Finally finished this on a recommendation. Found it difficult to start with—the heavy descriptions and shifting narrative took a while to appreciate. But the depth of it, particularly in the second part onwards was really very moving, more than I expected, even with a book so premised in tragedy.
