Contrary to common thinking, niceness and kindness are not the same. Kindness is a biblical virtue rooted in love for neighbor. Niceness is selfish, narcissistic, and rooted in a desire to keep others at just enough of a distance to get what you want from them without committing to their actual wellbeing.
