This is one of my favorite Original Series books because it mixes my two favorite genres, sci-fi & murder mysteries. I love the Spock/Sarek/Amanda family stuff, and the mystery is pretty good although Kirk was pretty slow in figuring it out. For a Starship Captain who is used to figuring out the unknown, I thought he should have gotten it sooner. Bones revealing the killer was cool, though.
