Objectivist ethics, an ethical system argued by Rand, sees ‘rational selfishness’ as the basis for a rational benevolent society. And given Rands notion that societies are initially created from a system of ethics, rational selfishness is the highest virtue. As such any ethical system built around altruism should be rejected in order to avoid self destruction and destruction of society.
