I’m reading this one so slowly as I don’t want it to be over!
A true literary marvel!

This is 🤯.
Wow. Cusk is bacccck.

*This update has a spoiler*

Ok, I’m 50% through this and am considering DNF’ing.

You think an older man is your dad, so you go to NY to get into his writing class, you find out he’s not, and decide to sleep with him and get involved in a ‘whateveritis’.
Soooooooooo many things to comment on but I will keep it at, ‘not for me’.

Anyone out there??? Have you read this? Please tell what I am reading!!

If you have any interest in linguistics, history of language, swearing & humor, read this.
Actually, listen to it. Mcwhorter narrates it himself and he is hilarious (and brilliant).
Of course, if profanity is not something you are good with, you’ll want to pass.

I needed this book.
So good.

Why have I put this book off for so long?
I am really enjoying it!

I’m slowly making my way thru these, listening to a few each evening. Hearing David read them himself on audio is fantastic and so hilarious!

I’m feeling like the characters are parallel to one another instead of intertwining? I understand part of that is the point, but this is not pulling me in. In a way, it feels juvenile. Is it just me? Or does this get better????

absolutely loving this.

DFW- Category of 1.
I have 2 essays to go…just read title essay, Consider the Lobster…wow.

It breaks my heart that this brilliant brain isn’t still earthside.
I would love his thoughts on where the world is now.

I am in love with Ray Bradbury.
Storytelling ✅✅✅
If anyone needs a shot of nostalgia, or wants to contemplate human contentment and how we best go about that (human connection for the win! 🙌🏼) pick this oldie up.

I’m struggling with this a bit.
It feels like linked stories and it’s losing me.
Maybe it’s because of the impending dread of what we all know happened after this year in the countryside.
Sigh…

Hilarious & brilliant.
