It’s making me connect with parts of my ancestry and really has me trying to understand and re-think everything I’ve known about the United States’ history.

It’s been a great book so far. I don’t have a lot of experience with the history of Alaska’s colonization. The implications are still rampant today.

Hayes does a great job explaining and recounting her experiences and makes them feel deep and meaningful.
