“Therapeutic,
Elephantic,
Diagnosis,
Boom!
Pancreatic,
Microstatic,
Anti-toxic,
Doom!
With a normal catabolism,
Gabbleism and babbleism,
Snip, Snap, Snorum,
Cut out his abdonorum.
Dyspepsia,
Anemia,
Toxaemia,
One, two, three,
And out goes He,
With a fol-de-rol-derido for the Five Guinea Fee.”

Context: Merlyn turned into a moat-dwelling fish physician. That should reasonably explain it. 😃

We are playing so fast and loose with historical accuracy here that it’s literally incredible in the exact sense of the word.

“The old gentleman leaned back in his chair and lighted an enormous meerschaum pipe—Good gracious, he breaths fire, thought the Wart, who had never heard of tobacco—before he was ready to reply.”

”But about these boys,” said Sir Grummore. “How many of them are there, do you know?”

“Two,” said Sir Ector, “counting them both, that is.”

“There are a number of theories about the origins of Irish faeries… Another theory is that when the Celts invaded Ireland in 500 BCE, the native people, who were much smaller than the invaders, retreated to the woodlands, caves, and safe underground places.”
George has been here, I can sense it 🧙‍♀️

I have a weird note. The 2023 second trade paperback edition has the perfect book smell. I’ve compared it to other books and the only one that has The Good Book Smell is the presumably similarly manufactured first book in the Mistborn series. I open this book just to smell it sometimes. So…. say aye if you vote to have all books henceforth smell like the Mistborn series? 🙋‍♀️

“That’s wonderful, Vin.”

"Can you get someone to suggest to Winston [Churchill] that there is a petrol spring on the beach (very favourably advised on by many engineers, but concessions always refused by the Turks), huge iron deposits near Durt Yol 10 miles to the north and coal also....” Lawrence is funny asf

Perhaps an unnecessary re-read, but I like the way Anderson strings a sentence together, and after all, a girls gotta listen to something while she does her chores.
