This happened purely by accident. There’s not a single character here that’s not insufferable, messy, self centered or even remotely likable. Yet I can’t stop reading. Hoping to finish the book before I see the movie.

No one captures sense of place like JLB. So lovely to dive back into southern LA with this wild cast of characters, especially with Clete (finally!) as narrator.

Man this one has grabbed on tight and has me in a chokehold- truly one of the greatest novels ever written.

Picking back up where I left off over 2 years ago. It’s a brick!

Finally figured out what the hell is actually happening in this book!

Sitting on the shelf for 6 months, it’s not at all what I expected in a good way!

Lord please let this one break the slump!
