Lol, everyone here opens up their lives with key details when asked a simple question from strangers.

I kind of want to finish this book, but the meta aspect of it is a let down. It was OK and even fun at the beginning, but it is now annoying.

I started liking Will Smith a lot and enjoying his audiobook. Great story teller, sure, but after hours of hearing him inflating himself, with little to no real introspection, I'm getting too bored too quickly.

Very interesting and useful to build a general understanding of Israel. The bias is obvious, though.

Have to return to the library (and get in the line again), but so far it is an interesting read. Highly misunderstood. Suffers from the typical study/anecdote selection in books pushing an argument.

I guess each to his own writing, but Adrian Smith is a famous guitar player and that's what I would expect in his book. Skimming and just reading the rock bits.

Mmmmmmm......it doesn't look good when the role of the USSR in the second world war is downplayed in favor of the USA.

Struggling with the dishonesty here. Too much US bias weakens Albright's points.

Es interesante como un libro puede gustarte y no al mismo tiempo. Por un lado, a momentos disfruto los diálogos y el ritmo, mientras que a veces siento que casi ni historia hay.

I like this Criminal Minds (a bit more credible) book. Good characters and an interesting plot. Solid narrator, too. I'm finding the Spanish bits distracting.

It's so so....the story is OK, but I'm finding that all the characters sound the same. The audio narrator makes this so obvious (not his fault).

Just starting. The first lines, with the attempts at poetry, really put me down, but I'll see where it goes. I was rally looking forward to this.

I will stop if it turns into a good vs. evil tale with a single country being the good one.

Julian is on page 50 of 224 of Black Klansman: Race, Hate, and the Undercover Investigation of a Lifetime
While the story is interesting and has potential, the execution is dry. I don't know if it's the writing itself or the narrator (also the author), but it listens like those presentations where someone just reads walls of text from a PowerPoint slide. Going for two stars, unless something changes in the second half.

I started reading it late and now I'll have to stop because the book needs to be returned to the library.

Excellent topics so far. It really makes you rethink what you might consider obvious due to male bias. It's a bit of a data and trivia dump, though. Lacks narrative. Still, good enough to pick it up again when I can (it will probably be next year, seeing as many people have it on hold in the library).

Oh my. The author obviously knows her away around words and has turned this into a melodramatic telenovela.

I cannot feel sympathetic for a person whose first thought about her potential father is that he should be a med student. No way in hell he could have been a bus driver or any other blue collar guy. Then she pulls her strings and wealth to sort everything out in a matter of minutes.

Not impressed so far.

Clearly well researched, but it feels like a collection of isolated facts and anecdotes put together with little to no order. At times I find myself paying no attention, and I am questioning whether to continue.

Not good at all. Considering dropping it but, as always, I still want to know what happened, even if I don't like the execution. I'm listening now at 1.4x speed and constantly find myself thinking about something else and realizing I haven't paid attention for minutes.

A very unlikable and obnoxious protagonist...again a rich woman from Harvard. I'll keep reading, but it doesn't seem like Lisa Genova has author skills. This is likely a Still Alice II.

I'm a bit over 7hrs on this one and liking it. Good and interesting characters and the narrative, while simple, keeps me entertained. It's helped that I'm back at the gym, so I can listen to longer segments.
