It’s a slow burn of the author’s own hatred for Victor Frankenstein but by chapter 9 or 10 she rly can’t stand that cunt

Really good and excellent intro , chapter 2 could probably do with slightly less extensive and less enumerated lists of stage productions . The info is good ofc and the author obviously did tons of solid research, but i feel like some of it could have been summarized or made more succinct . We trust you! There were lots of adaptations of true crimes!

RIP Israel Zangwill, you would have LOVED What a Way to Go! (1964) starring Shirley MacLaine

Decent enough and enjoyable thus far, but about half way through, somewhere in chapter 6, the author lifts a sentence verbatim from Judith Flanders’ “The Invention of Murder.” I’ve only listened to audiobook versions of both, but even with a footnote—or on the condition that both authors are quoting a different source—the fact that it’s uncredited is pretty suspicious. Plagiarism at worst, lazy at best

drags a bit at times, doesn’t often thoroughly engage with racial inequalities within the crew and the society, more like a passing mention
