I can't imagine what the target audience is for this book actually. Why am I reading about this kid's relationship with a cheerleader. (And why does she seem so... NPCish? Popped up to say 'hey, hehe, want to do something' and then leave.)

"I went downstairs and made things as much better as I could." I guess it's cute (in the loosest sense of the word...) when authors try and use a word they used earlier a second time? Not sure if that makes sense, but I COULD understand that, in some circumstances. Not sure if that's even what Stephen did here, though, and even if it was... It kinda annoys me. Use quotation marks at least? Make it a proper sentence??

I do not like how this grown man wrote the word 'vids'. Is that something teenagers actually said in 2013? Yucky....

Time is water, life is a bridge, or something. I hate these fake-deep quotes people will put in their books because they think they're SO smart. What does that even mean. Time doesn't effect life? Life is set in stone? Literally leave. Get out of my face. I can't do this.

I'm honestly really annoyed by the way the main character is written. Call me ill-informed, but no highschooler in the last decade would call their shoes 'sneaks' or not know what old TVs look like, right?? Did this child never watch a cartoon in his life, even if he may not have seen one physically? That's like not knowing how to use a rotary phone or even what a cassette tape IS. It's not ancient knowledge???
