Kinda wanted more from the spear woman warrior...

This epic fantasy contains such a unique world and function of magic. Although some characters and relationships could be improved, the book is still enjoyable.

First audiobook with lots of singing. I didn’t need it but I’ll push through.

Current thoughts: The anti-hero is disturbingly interesting. Her narration can be unreliable and judgmental, but its a raw and open perspective of a vengeful woman with personality disorders. The commentary can make you chuckle, side-eye others, and even cringe at the insults that could apply to themselves. Despite this, a reader can find comfort that the anti-hero is probably way worse than themselves.

So close to DNFing since it’s taking too long to get to the murder mystery of it all. I can deal with the big frenemy group trope, but the book focuses too much on the elaboration. By now, we get the tropes: beautiful party rich mean girl, nerdy reserved best friend, party girl turn mom, unrequited love even though married, characters feeling watched. It’s tired out.
