Richard The Lionheart lived a life of glory and God (despite the latter half being imprisoned) and died to a bolt to the shoulder. Tragic

Book 9 Notes: Seems like waiting for the tall Cyclopes to return wasn't the smartest idea. This was a brutal chapter but exciting to see how Odysseus cleverly escaped the clutches of Polyphemus the savage Cyclopes. Also interesting to see how Odysseus earned the animosity of Poseidon due to his hubris

Book 6 notes: Athena is the greatest wingman in fiction lmao.

Book 7 notes: Genuine respect for Odysseus. He is quite honorable/determined in still wanting to leave an island like that for his family and home. He was in great need of rest it seemed as well.

Book 8 notes: Feast game drama and glamor. This book uses song to show how memory can be both a source of pride and deep sorrow.

The Repairer of Reputations:

So I re-watched True Detective Season 1 and I was like fine I'll read The King in Yellow and the first short story of the collection was astounding. This "alternative" America and its political structure is demented but grand. Hildred’s unreliable perspective is incredibly engaging and his destructive pursuit of forbidden knowledge is terrifying in a strange way.
